History of All Saints' Church
All Saints' Church has its origin in Christ Church, Ilanthope which, in the early 1970s, began to experience space constraints due to a steadily growing congregation. To better serve the spiritual needs of Christians particularly those living in the western regions of Arasaradi and Arapalayam, the idea of establishing a new place of worship along the Bypass Road was proposed. This vision was supported and emphasized by the Pastorate Committee in 1977, and further action was taken by the Executive Committee. 23rd September 1979, marks the birth of our Church.
As the congregation continued to grow, land was purchased on 10th September 1981 for a permanent place of worship. A thatched shed was erected and inaugurated as a Prayer House on 20th February 1983. This was later dedicated by Rt. Rev. Pothirajalu, Bishop of Madurai-Ramnad, on 27th March 1984, and was officially named as All Saints' Church. The foundation stone for a permanent Church building was laid on 1st November 1983, on the occasion of All Saints' Day. Through unceasing prayer, wholehearted cooperation, and the dedicated support of the congregation, the construction was brought to completion and the new Church building was dedicated on 1st November 1986 by Rt. Rev. Jason Dharmaraj, Bishop of Tirunelveli. With the steady growth of the congregation, the need for a larger worship space led to the construction and dedication of a new Church in 2022.
